CD Hovercraft

The Goal: To build a balloon-powered "hovercraft"

 

The Project: 

  • Punch 1 or more small holes in a soda bottle or water bottle cap.

  • Glue the cap securely to a CD.

  • Blow up a balloon and pinch/twist the opening closed.

  • Fit the opening over the top of the cap.

  • Let go, and it will skim across a flat surface like a hovercraft 
     

I would do this with 4th or 5th grade and up.
