The Goal: To make light-up Halloween characters
The Project: Cut a hole in a ping-pong ball so that it fits over the "flame" part of a plastic, battery-operated votive candle, glue on the ping-pong ball, then decorate. This could work with other characters like Minions, Easter bunnies, snowmen, etc. I pre-cut the holes for this activity, and use glue dots to attach the ping-pong balls. (At one family STEAM night, we used painter's tape to hold the ping-pong ball on until the glue dried.) You want to get matte finish pingpong balls and use Sharpie so that the design doesn't wipe off. 2nd grade and up.

The blue painter tape is on them until the glue dry.

Make a string of eyeball or jack-o-lantern lights; or use neon ping-pong balls for party lights.
